I thought this was a good film. Struggled a bit with its narrative, and I only barely got caught up in the characters, but a surprisingly quiet and enjoyable film. My guess is this is something Sam Mendes wanted to do for himself, it felt very personal.

I came away okay on this one. Krasinski and Rudolph were great, I thought, but the characters kind of seemed cliche (especially Maggie Gyllenhaal's hippie dippie cousin).

That said, I was touched by the main characters' loving struggles in their relationship, and thought the ending was really hopeful and beautiful.

Back when I first saw this, I was knocked out by it...but the more I read other people's reaction of it, I begin to think that I was the only one who was knocked out by it.

Maybe it just spoke to me. *shrugs*
