And Penelope does look radiant, doesn't she? I've heard it's lower-tier Almodovar, but even that has to be ten times better than most of what's out these days. :)
Similar to what I have heard. By the way, have you seen Elegy? It was a 2008 film, but it was very small. It starred Cruz and Ben Kingsly and although the performances were better than the film, I'd still recommend it.
I haven't yet, but it's in my Netflix queue! That's why I think people are too hard on her win for Vicky Cristina Barcelona (which I think she deserved).
The Oscars were started as a way to honor a performer's body of work in a given year, and by all accounts Penelope had TWO fantastic turns in 2008.
